Introduction:
I wanted to use this page so that I can priovide you with as much background knowledge about myself that I could. To start off I wnated to formally introduce myself. My name is Nicholas Richard and I will be teaching 10th grade biology this coming school year. With that being said I am extrmely excited to provide as much knowledge as I can in this subject to all of my students.
So a bit about myself. I graduated from Schuylerville High School in th year 2014, and this is the place where I found my passion for the subject of biology. From there I went off and attended Hartwick College, which is located in Oneonta, NY. My major while I was there was biology. I had the pleasure of conducting one and a half years of intense research under my mentor, Dr. Stanely K. Sessions. I researched eastern newts, which is a type of salamander. I will attach images of the newts that I researched down below! While at Hartwick Collehe I also played football for all four years, and was lucky enough to be elected captain of the team my senior season. So a question I get alot is what got you into education? Well simply put is my passion for shaping the minds of future generations to come. With that being said that is why I went on and pursued a masters degree in adolesence education at SUNY Plattsburgh. I am also lucky enough to be a varisty defensive line coach here at Schuylerville.
In my free time what do I like to do? I have three main hobies that I absolutely love. The first hobbie that I have and really enjoy is fishing. There is nothing like being out on a nice warm summer day, and catching some fish. The next hobbie that have and really enjoy is golf. Even though I lose more balls than I keep I still love to do it! The last and probably my favorite of all is spending time with my family.

Teaching Philosophy:
My own personal philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment created by myself, where they can grow in many different aspects of their lives. That being physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire and passion to create this type of atmosphere within my classroom. This will make it so students can meet their full potential. I will provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks without getting put down.
